Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the football scholarship of his family and service in the local community. His family's first name is his father was the youngest of the nine children raised within Eufala by Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He is one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. The three brothers were All-Americans. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the first-teamers for the entire year. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for all of the nation. The three years he was an offensive lineman, Oklahoma went 32- 1-1 and won two national championships. Third scholarship he was named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon was awarded a degree from education. Lee Roy spent ten hours every week in volunteer work in his college days. In Tampa where he played, he joined the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Also, he began a career in business. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of the most notable young men. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing the hefty 256 pounds at college when he was an athlete, was captain of his team during the season of 1975. He joined the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. Selmon has been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. The Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded their Distinguished American Award to his parents, Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
