Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She grew up with 12 other children. The vivid imagination of her mother was a great way to get away from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she could write and read, she was making up her own songs. When she was eight, she bought her first electric guitar and started singing at a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That following year, she made her debut album for Gold Band Records an independent small label. Her name was made on the local circuit while in high school but she always dreamed of having a bigger stage. On the 14th of March, 1964, that followed her graduation from high school, she relocated to Nashville. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for a female singer to perform on his show syndicated by him in the years prior to this. Parton accepted the role in 1966, joined RCA Records in 1968, and the Grand Ole Opry was founded in 1969. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974 after her own hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene oversold her collaborations. Parton's song, I Will Never Have Love for You (for Wagoner), hit the No. #1 spot following their separated. The song of Parton in 1974."I Will Always Love You" peaked at No.
