Anna Silk was the first child of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a writer, actor, director, producer and professor in St. Thomas University). Anna was born in Fredericton and is the daughter of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is an "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of performances as a kid as well as watching her mother at work. Anna was a part of numerous commercials as a young child. Anna moved to Toronto in the fall of 1999 in order to continue her acting career. She eventually settled down in Los Angeles (California) over the next ten years. Seth Cooperman met Anna at an Los Angeles actor's workshops in 2007. The couple got engaged. They were married at a civil wedding ceremony in was held in December, and then renew their vows during the form of a Jewish wedding ceremony held in Fredericton in April of 2011 following Anna's conversion to Judaism. Bo's same-sex romance with Lauren was featured in the top TV Couples in the history of television and was named top Television Couple 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's popularity on social media increased following the popularity of her television show.
