Reese Witherspoon feetLaura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, born on 22nd March 1976 is an American actress. She has received numerous awards such as an Academy Award and a British Academy Film Award. Time magazine and Forbes both have named her among the 100 most influential people across the world in the years 2015 and 2006 respectively. Forbes has named her the world's wealthiest actor in 2021. Witherspoon is estimated to have a amount of $400 million in her net worth. Witherspoon made her screen debut in The Man in the Moon (1991). In 1999, she appeared as an actor supporting in Cruel Intentions and played the role of Tracy Flick in Election. She gained wider recognition for her role as Elle Woods in the comedy Legally Blonde (2001) and its sequel in 2003 and for her part in the romantic comedy Sweet Home Alabama (2002). She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in the musical biopic Walk the Line. Following a dip in her career, with her only box-office success was the romantic drama Water for Elephants (2011), Witherspoon made a comeback in the form of a producer and star as Cheryl Strayed in the drama Wild (2014), which resulted in her being nominated for a second time for Best Actress at the Academy Awards. Since then, she's been working mostly on television, producing and starring in various female-led literary adaptations for her company Hello Sunshine. These include the HBO drama series Big Little Lies (2017-2019) and the Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2019-present), and the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere (2020). The Primetime Emmy Award was won for Outstanding Limited Series in the initial episode of these shows. She also wrote and produced the film adaptations of Gone Girl (2014) and Where the Crawdads Sing (2022).Witherspoon is also the owner of a clothing company, Draper James, and she is involved in children's and women's advocacy organizations. She is a part of the board of the Children's Defense Fund and was named Global Ambassador for Avon Products in 2007. In that capacity, she also acts as the honorary chair of Avon Foundation's charitable foundation that is dedicated to women's issues.
